CBD products come with language and terms that may be unfamiliar Some variables are the methods of extraction, processing, quality assurance, and the source of the CBD. What Do You Need to Know on CBD Ingredient Lists?
Here are some terms you need to know on CBD Ingredient Lists before using a CBD product:
Is the CBD an isolate, broad-spectrum, or full-spectrum?
Should you choose a CBD product that is an isolate, broad-spectrum, or full-spectrum CBD? What kind of CBD you want depends on your goals and use.
Not sure what the difference is between these terms? Read about isolate, broad-spectrum, and full-spectrum here.
Does the product contain CBD Oil, Hemp Oil or Hemp Seed Oil?
Hemp Seed Oil does not have the same benefits as Hemp leaves. While Hemp Seed Oil is an excellent source of Omegas and treats dry skin and acne, Hemp Seed Oil will not help with sleep or stress.

What Are the Additives or Carrier Oils?
Some CBD products contain all-natural ingredients, organic ingredients, or mostly natural ingredients. Others contain many chemicals and additives, such as food coloring or flavoring.
Don’t assume that your CBD product is all-natural just because it contains CBD.
How Much CBD is in the Product?
To be effective, there must be a certain ratio of CBD within the product. CBD concentrates are often delivered in a carrier oil, so CBD is not always the first ingredient. But it should be higher on the ingredient list.
Some products use CBD as a marketing tool, using only a small amount of CBD within the product. This is known as “sprinkling”. Sprinkling CBD into another product won’t give the full benefits of CBD.
Read “Why You Need to Know About CBD Sprinkling” to know more about “sprinkling”.
Are There Third-Party Testing Reports?
A reputable CBD company should be able to provide you with a copy of their Certificate of Analysis, a third-party, independent lab testing report showing exactly what is in the CBD product. It should document levels of each cannabinoid and show the levels of THC or heavy metals, if applicable.
